What is BalanceUp?
BalanceUp is a mobile app for tracking personal and shared expenses. Accounts are private ledgers you keep for a shop, vendor or person, with Due tracking. Groups are shared spaces for trips, flats and events where expenses are split between people and BalanceUp shows who owes whom.
Does BalanceUp move money or process payments?
No. BalanceUp never transfers money, never processes payments and never asks for card or bank details. It only records and calculates. When you record a Full Pay or Part Pay, or settle up in a group, you are noting a payment that happened outside the app — by cash, UPI, bank transfer or any other way you choose.
Which devices does BalanceUp work on?
BalanceUp is built for Android phones and iPhones. Your data is stored on our servers, so you can sign in on another phone and pick up where you left off.
Do I need an internet connection?
Only for some things. Your accounts and groups are kept on your phone, so you can view them, add and edit expenses, record payments and create new accounts or groups offline. Changes sync automatically when you are back online. Signing in, invitations, closing or deleting a group and a few other actions need a connection.
